We have a chartering formula that ensures you will have a clean and mechanically sound vessel when you arrive, and a helpful staff to get you comfortable and to get to know the boat.

Our Charter Fleet is located at Cove Haven Marina in Barrington, RI., which is a full service marina with swimming pool, picnic tables, a park next door, and a wonderful bike path that passes by. If the weather is lousy and you want to hang out at the dock, you are in a protected cove just minutes away from great restaurants, and a quick drive to a number of historical sites and museums.

We currently have seven boats for charter for the 2012 season:

2010 Jeanneau 42 for $3950

2001 Catalina 400 for $3595

2010 MAHE catamaran for $3950

2006 Hunter 41 for $3595

2006 Tartan 3400 for $2595

2006  Hunter  36 for $2595

1983 Pearson 303 for $1500

Departures are (usually) either Friday or Saturday. The charter period runs from 5 PM Friday (or Saturday) afternoon, until 10 AM the following Friday (or Saturday). Typically arrival is sometime late afternoon/evening, and check-out is the next morning; and by that evening you are in a quiet anchorage nearby poised for a morning departure to the Cape or Martha's Vineyard.

Three day charters: We will charter our boats for less than a week, but will schedule ONLY two weeks prior to the charter date. Three day weekend is 70% of the weekly rate. three day mid-week is 50% of the weekly rate.

Our boats are thoroughly cleaned after every charter, and the systems go through a 50 point check to ensure everything is working and is as it should be. Our full time staff is on site.

One of our captains will go through the boat with you, go over the charts, and take you out to make sure you are familiar with the boat; and to make sure we are familiar with your skills. If you can, we encourage this checkout process be done in advance so you can start your vacation as soon as you arrive for the charter!

Reservations may be made by email or phone. Call 401-649-1754. We will hold these for 5 days pending your 50% deposit. After receiving your deposit, we will send you your confirmation and charter package.

Weekends: When a boat is not chartered two weeks prior, then it is available for the weekend. Three day minimum. Weekend rate is 70% of the weekly rate. three days mid-week is 50% of the weekly rate.

Trip insurance is available providing a refund if circumstances beyond your control interfere with your charter.

Security deposit required and $100 cleaning fee is charged. At the end of your charter just empty the garbage and go home! We do the rest.

A 50% deposit reserves the boat for specific dates.  Cancellation 45 days prior gets full refund. If you are forced to cancel your reservation 45- 30 days prior to charter date, we will refund 50% of that deposit, or we will reschedule for a fee equal to 25% of the deposit.

Cancellation less than 30 days prior will have 50% of deposit returned if we can re-rent the scheduled charter time. (we try hard)

So many places to go, and such wonderful, predictable weather! Martha's Vineyard, Buzzards Bay, Long Island Sound, and the jewel...Narragansett Bay!

It is easy to spend a week or more just sampling the delights of Narragansett Bay. Quiet anchorages, quaint villages, lots of history, and very lay back...or go to Newport for all it has to offer; although I would not use the word "lay back" to describe Newport. We have Bristol that is teeming with good restaurants and has interesting museums. Come check out Wickford village which is an undiscovered gem. Block Island is an upwind slog, but what a beautiful pristine beach and protected harbor!

Cuttyhunk Harbor (none prettier!) is a short day away, Martha's Vineyard is one long day or two delightful short days away.  You can be in Long Island Sound in one day. Small states around here, and everything is close!

Come and see what all the conversation is about in our little corner of the world.

NARRAGANSETT SAILING LLC BAREBOAT CHARTER APPLICATION & SAILING RESUME

The following inquiry is being made in order to determine if your knowledge and experience are appropriate for the vessel you wish to charter. Feel free to give us a call and chat about questions or concerns you have. 401-649-1754. We realize anyone can fill out a form and make themselves look good, this is just to give us a feel for your skills on paper. This is often followed up by a chat with our Charter Manager. At the time of charter (or before if we can arrange it!) you will be asked to demonstrate several skills:  Take the boat off the dock, motor out the harbor, raise the sails, reef the sails, anchor, navigate, and bring the boat back to the dock. We understand the boat will be unfamiliar to you, and we do not expect you to display the knowledge and proficiency of a professional seaman. However we will be able to evaluate your skills observing these maneuvers, and we are vitally interested in your ability to complete a pleasure-boat voyage in safety and without placing undue risk upon yourself, your crew and the vessel. If we feel your skills are not where they need to be, we reserve the right to put one of our captains on board (at $300/day) and have you sail locally until we are satisfied with your seamanship. We also reserve the right to limit your cruising grounds based on your skill level.

Please answer each question as completely and informatively as possible. This resume will be attached and become a part of your charter contract. For convenience this form may be completed and returned on line, or if you prefer, printed and completed by hand. There is room at the end of the form for remarks or any questions for which you may wish to elaborate.
